We are responsible for development, marketing and sales as well as manufacturing of protection and control products for power generation, transmission and sub-transmission network applications. As one of our R&D Test & Automation Engineers for the development, you will be integrated in a team that locally consists of about 10 people of skilled and experienced R&D Test engineers. Within the global Grid Automation Products technology development, the group is responsible for product, system and type testing during development and maintenance of our embedded system products’ consisting of software, electronics, mechanics and software configuration tools. 
Your responsibilities
Developing and maintaining our automated test systems, running on PC based platforms, consisting of tools for engineering of test cases, execution of tests and controlling external equipment, automated test result assessments, reporting and storage of results.
Testing case development, execution and reporting of tests.

Knowledge in, and an understanding of, electronic products, protective relays and related product standards are qualifying, as well as experience regarding the mechanical qualities of printed circuit boards (PCB), skills in industrialization/NPI, and knowledge of materials properties and environmental requirements (e.g., EMC, RoHS). You will have to interface with suppliers for mechanical parts and thereby understand their tools and processes, as well as be aware of the state-of-the art of manufacturing for mechanical parts. Fluency in English is a requirement, written and spoken alike. Fluency in Swedish is not required but seen as an advantage.

As one of our Senior R&D Engineers for the development of HW electronics, you will be integrated in a team that locally consists of about 15 people of skilled and experienced HW-R&D staff.

Within the global Grid Automation Products technology development, the group is involved with managing development and maintenance of our embedded system products’ electronics and mechanics.

Your tasks span at least over the following range of activities:
- Analyze market requirements, user input and product architecture to derive technical requirements (functional and non-functional) for platform circuit boards (HW modules)
- Evaluate PCBA implementations against requirements based on review of design and verification results
- Create, evaluate and compare technical solution options involving external supplier’s expertise and prototyping as needed
- Perform solutions’ cost analysis and cost trade-off studies
- Analyze and document risks connected to technical solutions

You will collaborate with your fellow hardware engineers and architects, as well as software developers, test engineers, project and product managers and many different functions that are present on-site in Västerås; from Production, to Sales & Marketing, Controlling and HR.
