Arbetsuppgifter
Som Test Setup Competency Specialist blir du en viktig del av Factory System Testing (FST)-teamet. Teamet ansvarar för att etablera kompletta testmiljöer för kundprojekt – från det att skåpen anländer till provrummet tills systemen är redo för kunddemonstration och leverans.

Detta är en ny roll i ett växande team, vilket innebär att du får vara med och forma rutiner, arbetssätt och riktlinjer för hur testsetupen ska utföras framöver.

Arbetet är praktiskt, tekniskt och varierat där du dagligen arbetar med hårdvara, mjukvara, nätverk, kommunikation och testutrustning som RTDS.

Huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter
Genomföra kompletta test setups för kontrollsystem i leveransprojekt.

Ladda firmware på kretskort samt utföra hårdvaru- och funktionstestning.

Grundkonfigurera system, kommunikation och mjukvara inför tester.

Upprätta och konfigurera testmiljö med RTDS (Real-Time Digital Simulator).

Hantera KVM-konfiguration och aktivering av Windows-licenser.

Stötta projekt genom testning av reservdelar och komponenter.

Delta i mottagningsfasen av nya skåp: materialkontroll, kompletteringar och hopkoppling. Samarbeta nära Control Engineering för att säkerställa gemensamma arbetssätt och korrekta instruktioner.

Arbetet sker i en modern testmiljö där teamet tillsammans säkerställer att systemen är korrekt uppsatta och redo för kundverifiering.

Skallkrav
Vi söker dig som har en teknisk utbildning. Rollen är praktisk och innebär dagligt arbete med fysisk utrustning, kablage och hårdvaruinstallationer. En bakgrund som elektriker eller tekniker är mycket väl lämpad.

Krav för rollen:

Ingenjörsutbildning eller relevant teknisk bakgrund.

Erfarenhet eller tydligt intresse av att arbeta praktiskt med teknisk utrustning

Svenska och engelska.

Möjlighet att arbeta på plats i Västerås, kontorstid 07:30–16:30.

Meriterande
Erfarenhet av test setup eller hårdvarutestning.

Erfarenhet av commissioning/driftsättning av styrsystem.

Erfarenhet av blockprogrammering eller grundläggande programmering.

Erfarenhet av elektriska skåp, koppling eller industriella automationsmiljöer.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Discipline Product Engineer (DPE) to join our Product Portfolio Management team. The DPE will play a crucial role in managing the lifecycle, requirements, configuration, and roadmap for the solutions in the Power System Studies discipline. This role is embedded within the Engineering function, ensuring close collaboration to deliver business relevance. Location is Västerås, Sweden.
How you’ll make an impact
You will be overall technical responsibility for the integration of Statcom plant design.
Translate market and engineering needs into Product Requirement Specifications into Base Solution and drive the roadmap in coordination with the Global Product Manager and Global Product Specialist.
Managing the lifecycle of the Base Solution, configuration and tools and Support and integrate new technical solutions in close cooperation with R&D.
Maintain and ensure documentation hands on—including technical descriptions, user guide lines etc.—is current, accessible, and complete.
Monitor and coordinate feedback-driven improvements within the own discipline but also across teams.
Align and cooperate cross functional within and outside Engineering
Provide guidance in tenders/projects and ensure knowledge transfer across global Electro-Mechanical team.

Your Background
Hold an M.Sc. in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering or similar experience gained in other business.
8+ years of experience in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, plant design within Power Systems modularization of engineering products, standardization, within Facts or similar business
Good technical knowledge and experience within FACTS in most of the technical aspects and understanding impact on other engineering disciplines.
Calculation and design tools (SolidWorks , Inventor, REVIT), PLM system (Siemens team center or similar).
Strong communication, collaboration and leadership abilities.
The ability to take a holistic view
Experience working with diverse and cross-functional teams.
Proven experience in product management is highly desirable.
Strategic and operational mindset with a focus on business productivity and efficiency.
Fluency in English both written and spoken.

Your role and responsibilities

For our research center in Sweden, we are looking for a research scientist with expertise in the area of Electromagnetics for High Power Applications. You will work in dynamic, motivated, and creative teams with a wide range of experience and competence and with access to highly advanced laboratory facilities.
How you´ll make an impact
As an expert in the field of electromagnetics for high power applications, your role would involves identifying technical requirements and driving innovation in the area of sustainable energy infrastructure for the future power grids.
You will be responsible for developing and providing solutions for technical challenges in R&D projects. This will include validating new concepts through software simulations or laboratory tests and optimizing these solutions to meet the necessary technical requirements.
Your work will also involve managing R&D projects or work-packages with a structured working style, target-oriented strategy, and effective leadership.
You will be expected to create ideas and proposals for R&D projects that improve manufacturing processes and design for high-voltage power apparatus, with a clear business focus.
In addition, you will be required to support other R&D projects that require electromagnetics competence.
You will be expected to interact and actively communicate with team members, customers, suppliers, as well as collaborators in partner companies and universities.
Your work will result in delivering outcomes in the form of software, hardware, technical reports, patent applications, scientific papers, and presentations.
You will also be expected to build a network in the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise.

Your background
PhD in either of the following areas - Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Engineering, Power System Engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on electromagnetic modelling.
Demonstrated expertise in computational electromagnetism.
You have prior experience of designing and conducting relevant experimental studies.
Knowledge and/or research experience with high-voltage power apparatus such as transformers, reactors, generators, or switchgears.
Knowledge of high-voltage phenomena such as corona, partial discharge, insulation breakdown and degradation would be beneficial.
Experience in electromagnetic interference and compatibility would also be advantageous, as would experience in designing high-voltage power apparatus.
If you have previous experience of leading R&D projects, this would be considered an advantage.
Excellent leadership and communication skills, team player attitude, creative and take initiative.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Your role and responsibilities
In this role you will be our engineering specialist for the driveline system in our global delivery projects. You will be a key-player ensuring smooth project execution within your area of responsibility. You will also have an important part in improving our deliveries and in developing our future offerings.


Your field of work in the electrical driveline system includes several technical areas such as, electrical motors, brakes, transformers, MV and LV switchgears, drive systems, reactive power control, measurement devices, and control and protection devices.


You will provide technical guidance to our design engineers for the system design of the driveline system. Including selecting driveline components based on performance requirements, and providing design details for the surrounding system while ensuring that our deliveries meet the project specific requirements.


You will make technical recommendations in the design, engineering, testing, installation, and commissioning phases of delivery projects to ensure the projects are completed according to requirements and standards. You will also support the sales team, the project teams and our customers with issues related to the driveline system, both in the office and on site if needed.


In this role there will be frequent interactions with customers, suppliers, and partners, as well as with internal stakeholders. Collaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practices across different projects and disciplines will be an important aspect of the role.


Preferably you can also take on the role as electrical safety champion and support the organization on electrical safety matters.


Qualifications for the role
A master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
At least 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience. For instance from electrical system design, maintenance, commissioning, product development.
Relevant experience of electrical motors, and one or more of the related technical areas; brakes for electrical motors, switchgears, transformers, cables, measuring devices, protection devices, AC drives.
Familiarity with electrical safety rules and regulations as well as experience from practical implementation of electrical safety routines is needed for the role as electrical safety champion.
Experience of control theory, PLC, or general electrical lab experience is an advantage, as well as experience from design of control cubicles.
You are a team player with high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
You have a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
Fluency in English is mandatory, and working capability in Swedish is needed for the role as electrical safety champion.

Som person är du nyfiken, öppen och social med en naturlig förmåga att bygga goda och långsiktiga relationer.

Oversee the electromechanical design of our energy storage system (ESS) rack in our SVC Light Enhanced solution. The Product Group Transformer Components and Service is a key product group within Hitachi Energy. Your responsibilities

Act as technical professional interface between the R&D Technology Project Team, the Local Business Unit SCM teams, the Product Group SCM team and the Business Unit SCM Category Managers, ensuring that project information is adequately shared between the Project Team and the various SCM teams.
Work according to the gate model, arranging project SCM gate meetings as required and creating and maintaining the project related SCM documents.
Be responsible for initial cost and quality estimates and achieving product cost and quality targets. Work to optimize the cost and quality at all stages of the R&D development projects, including investment and test costs.
Work with the local SCM team and Business Unit Category Managers to find new potential materials or new potential suppliers for critical materials. Select, with the support of local SCM team and Business Unit Category Managers, the R&D prototype suppliers, and final production material suppliers, in line with product cost requirements, future product footprint requirements and SCM strategies, while ensuring sustainable quality and cost.
Manage directly with the suppliers for each project the ordering and on time delivery of the prototype parts, in line with the critical project development and testing plan. Work to minimize the prototype and out-turn sample delivery time to reduce overall project timeline.
Work to optimize the cost at all stages of the development projects, including prototype and testing. Compare and develop the best value chain for the new product considering packaging cost, transportation and logistics cost, import duties and currency risk.
Support the development of new lower cost suppliers to meet the level required for sustainable quality and on time delivery.
Understand, discuss, and agree on CAD drawings & parts tolerance with suppliers.

Your background

You have experience with some of the areas of converter control or hardware and system dimensioning.
Matlab, Simulink and PSCAD (or similar) are tools you work well with

Dina ansvarsområden
• Förstå vilken hårdvara som kunderna behöver.

R&D Simulation Engineer - Computational Fluid Dynamics

Key role in the innovation and development of world class high and medium voltage products
As the demand for advanced investigations in fluid dynamics applications is growing, we are now looking for a CFD Simulation Engineer to strengthen the Applied Mechanics Department. The core competence in our department spans different fields in applied mechanics, mechanical testing and advanced modelling and simulations, including computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis and Multiphysics simulations.

The department portfolio covers a wide range of high and medium voltage cutting edge products with emphasis on high-voltage cables, supporting the global community in the quest for a green energy transformation.

As an CFD simulation engineer you will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a keen interest in innovation. You will provide technical support to NKT and to other industries worldwide in overcoming complex fluid dynamics challenges interlinked with all sorts of physics across different products and in all stages of the product development cycle.

Your main tasks will be to:
• Perform CFD analysis for different cutting edge product applications to solve complex and interesting problems that arise in various areas of fluid mechanics for medium and high voltage application
• Understand our internal and external customer needs as well as their business drivers and implement creative solutions that requires highly advanced computational models and complex simulation analyses
• Lead and conduct various type of consulting and R&D projects end-to-end, from initial client discussion to execution and reporting. You will contribute with your modelling and simulation expertise to the future development of world class high and medium voltage products.

Analytical, goal-oriented with excellent communication skills
To succeed in this role you have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers with different background. It is also advantageous if you have experience from building as well as maintaining close customer relations. You enjoy working independently as much as in multi-disciplinary team. Beyond the formal requirements, you will approach problem in an analytical manner – systematically identifying our customers´ needs – and creatively finding potential solutions.

Apart from this you do also have:
• Technical M.Sc. with two years of industrial experience or a technical Ph.D. in Physics, Mechanics, Thermal & Fluid dynamics, Aeronautics or equivalent.
• Knowledge of CFD and numerical modeling with solid programming and scripting skills
• Excellent skills and extensive experiences with commercial software, i.e. FLUENT, COMSOL
• Knowledge of machinery cooling/forced convection, free convection, multiphase simulations, non-Newtonian fluids/extrusion flows, high voltage electric fields, Multiphysics simulations, electromagnetic applications, commercial finite element analysis software, i.e. ABAQUS is a merit.

Reporting to the R&D Hub manager in Sweden, you will contribute creative ideas to R&D projects, as well as propose follow-up projects and activities based on new ideas.
Your responsibilities
Making judgments and contributing to results through an understanding of the key business drivers for ABB.
Ensuring alignment with targets and coordinating activities.
Monitoring technology developments and ABB products and technologies, and identifying technical drivers for R&D projects.
Working to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction according to incoming requests and providing consulting services to business operations and customers.
Participating in working teams, disseminating technical/scientific knowledge in projects, and assisting colleagues in applying processes and tools.
Participating in networks to expand knowledge of the targeted area of expertise.
Contributing to discussions of intellectual property and developing project clearance reports.
Identifying risks in R&D projects.

Your background
A university degree in Engineering, specializing in electric power conversion or electrical design and analysis
Working experience is meritorious, preferable in vehicle industry, working with rotating machines, power converters or drivelines
Good knowledge of electrical design and numerical analysis
Good knowledge of motor and converter interaction
Knowledge of thermal design and modeling both analytical and numerical
Fluent in English, written and spoken alike, whereas knowledge of Swedish is preferred
High level of cooperation skills with different people and cultures
Strong team spirit, individual and structured leadership to deliver expected results on time, on budget and with high quality

You will be creating and executing designs for engineering solutions as part of the Traction team in Motors in Västerås, Sweden. This includes drawings, calculations, bill of materials, engineering instructions and processes. Your responsibilities

In the quotation process you will be responsible for supporting our sales teams to find most suitable product by establish, analyze and evaluate electrical and thermal designs, based on customer requirements.
In order project, you will be responsible for deliver optimal solutions that meet customer requirements with the right quality on time and right cost. In addition, ensure that internal design and manufacturing rules are followed. Define, lead and evaluate tests to verify the electrical design.
Evaluate if and how applicable standards can be fulfilled during offering and project execution.
Contribute to continuous improvement through learning, developing working methods and calculation tools, including lead and drive testing development to verify electrical design.



Your background
To suit this role, you need to have a solid interest in technology and have personal leadership skills.
You hold a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on electrical power and rotating electrical machines, or equivalent. Alternatively, you hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, combined with several years of work experience from rotating electrical machinery.
As part of a global organization, fluency in written and spoken English is a must.
On a personal level you are open minded and always strive to understand customer requirements and to find the best possible solution, based on our unique concepts.
Experience from vehicles with electric motors and system knowledge with electric motors and inverters are meritorious.

We are looking for two new R&D engineers to join the energy revolution and help develop our FACTS (Flexible AC Transmission Systems) products for active control of the power grid of the future.
Globally, large changes are taking place, as the amount of renewables in the power generation mix increases rapidly. This places new demands on the stability and resilience of the transmission grid. We at Hitachi Energy are further enhancing our existing FACTS products with super-capacitor and battery-based energy storage; we are also developing the control functionality of our systems with Grid-Forming Control and other features to support the grid of the future and fulfil new grid-code requirements. This is a rapidly evolving area and we need to strengthen our team with two new engineers.
We work in a SCRUM/agile development environment using SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework), and you will be a member of an agile product development team. In this respect we put a high value on teamwork in both planning and execution of our R&D work.
Your responsibilities
Design, develop and test our control system software using Hitachi Energy’s bespoke development environment Hidraw as well as RTDS hardware in the loop testing.
Develop models of our products and control system software using simulation tools e.g. PSCAD, Power Factory, DigSilent which our customers use when planning grid investments/expansion.
Carry out and analyze results from power system simulations for integration of our products in the power grid using PSCAD.
Develop tools in Matlab to help our engineering teams in design work for tenders.
Design, control and testing of energy storage systems and DC protection concepts.
Contribute to technical aspects of strategy for our products going forward.

Your background
A minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with electric power transmission systems.
Experience of at least one of the following: System integration of FACTS technology, high-power and high-voltage applications of energy storage, control of power electronic converters.
An engineering or science degree at Masters level or Ph.D in a relevant area related to electric power engineering.
You are a team player and have preferably experience of SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) or SCRUM product development.
You enjoy learning about technology and are interested in becoming a technical expert in the area.
You enjoy working in an international setting where you will get to exchange knowledge with people from several different countries.
You have what it takes to plan and organize your own work independently.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, knowledge of Swedish is also an advantage but not mandatory.
