This position reports to Project Operations Manager.
ABB Metallurgy sells and delivers Electromagnetic stirring and braking systems to the steel and aluminum industry around the world.
As a Project Manager within ABB Metallurgy, you will be responsible for the successful execution of our projects aiming to fulfill and exceed the expectations of our customers. The work is done in close cooperation with our sales force, our technical departments and with our workshop. In this role, you will coordinate all tasks related to the project such as planning, providing clear guidelines, tasks, and milestones to the project group, while motivating and providing feedback.
Reporting to the Project Management Office Manager, you will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that customer requirements and all targets are met, providing excellent service at every stage of the project.
Your responsibilities
Plan and execute all tasks related to the successful, follow the projects through from first order to final acceptance after delivery and commissioning on customers’ site.
Monitor projects to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
Analyze and address project risks, and regularly disseminate lessons learned.
Work with other functions to coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers.
Achieve project deliverables and compliance with contract requirements.
Responsibility for the entire project lifecycle.
Interact with global customers and suppliers, as well as internal team members, and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications for the role
At least 5 years of work experience as Project Manager for system deliveries.
Experience in working with Aluminum refineries or Steel smelting or relevant products or technologies in the Metal industry market is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules, and vendors/subcontractors.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or in management is a plus.
Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
Fluent in writing and speaking English, Swedish knowledge is a plus.

Paterson & Cooke Nordic is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in a full-time position. The successful candidate will be a Project Engineer with a minimum of three years of experience working in an engineering consultancy, industrial plant and/or mine site environment. The Project Engineer will have a background in mechanical engineering, mining, or mineral processing and should be equally comfortable working in an office or visiting mine sites.
The Project Engineer will work as part of a project team taking responsibility for engineering and technical disciplines involved in the project. This includes scheduling, planning, forecasting and management of activities to assure project accuracy and quality. The work may include the following tasks and responsibilities:
Tasks
Conceptual designs and project evaluations
Hydraulic analysis and design of water and slurry pump and pipeline systems
Mechanical design and engineering of mining systems, including process plants, pumps, pipelines and related infrastructure
Process design including flow sheet development, mass balance, P&ID; generation
Selection specification and evaluation of system components (pumps, piping, valves, etc.)
Technical communication, including specifications, report writing and presentations
Project management, including planning and proposals, client liaison and execution of engineering projects

Responsibilities
Complete engineering projects by organising and controlling project elements
Co-operate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on project status
Monitor compliance applicable to codes and practices
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
Develop, maintain, and manage a client base
Continuously develop your knowledge, understanding and skills associated with relevant engineering projects systems and the mining and resources industry

Job Specification
Qualified to degree level or higher in a suitable subject (related to Engineering)
Registered, or eligible for registration, with appropriate engineering body
3 years or more site experience or exposure to mining, plant, pump station or pipeline construction
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work both independently under direction and with a team to discuss and resolve complex technical challenges and to find solutions
Strong presentation and technical writing skills, especially technical reports
Able to manage own time effectively, develop project plans, and to schedule work to deliver on multiple projects and work packages running together
Able and willing to travel locally and internationally
A valid driver’s licence
