Paterson & Cooke Nordic is seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our team in a full-time position. The successful candidate will be a Graduate Engineer with a minimum of one year of experience working in an engineering consultancy, industrial plant and/or mine site environment. The Graduate Engineer will have a background in mechanical engineering, mining, or mineral processing and should be equally comfortable working in an office or visiting mine sites.
The Graduate Engineer will be provided with on-the-job training and mentoring to support them in their development. They will have the opportunity to conduct global site visits with Project Managers and be directly involved in the design and engineering of pipelines, material test data interpretation and evaluation.. The work may include the following tasks and responsibilities:
Tasks
Hydraulic analysis and design of water and slurry pump and pipeline systems elements
Mechanical design and engineering of mining systems, including process plants, pumps, pipelines and related infrastructure
Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and report regularly on project status
Selection, specification and evaluation of system components (pumps, piping valves, etc)
Technical communication, including specifications, report writing and presentations
Laboratory work (slurry and material testing, R&D projects etc) as required

Responsibilities
Delivering allocated tasks and meeting objectives as agreed with the Project Manager
Perfrom design or laboratory activities with the supervision and mentoring of senior staff.
Co-operate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support
Assist with the preperation of proposal documents
Assist in preparing schedules of work
To apply engineering principles and logic
Create documents in line with company standards and maintain document management systems and schedules.

Job Specification
Qualified to degree level or higher in a suitable subject (related to Engineering)
Previous experience of being on a project site, possibly gained through a work placement
Able to demonstrate an awareness and understanding of computer aided design preparing technical drawings (PFDs, P&IDs;, GAs and Pipe Drawings)
Strong interpersonal skills, able to work both independently under direction and with a team to discuss and resolve complex technical challenges and to find solutions
Able and willing to travel locally and internationally
A valid driver's licence

This position reports to Project Operations Manager.
ABB Metallurgy sells and delivers Electromagnetic stirring and braking systems to the steel and aluminum industry around the world.
As a Project Manager within ABB Metallurgy, you will be responsible for the successful execution of our projects aiming to fulfill and exceed the expectations of our customers. The work is done in close cooperation with our sales force, our technical departments and with our workshop. In this role, you will coordinate all tasks related to the project such as planning, providing clear guidelines, tasks, and milestones to the project group, while motivating and providing feedback.
Reporting to the Project Management Office Manager, you will maintain and enhance customer satisfaction by ensuring that customer requirements and all targets are met, providing excellent service at every stage of the project.
Your responsibilities
Plan and execute all tasks related to the successful, follow the projects through from first order to final acceptance after delivery and commissioning on customers’ site.
Monitor projects to ensure best practices in cost control, resource efficiency and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).
Analyze and address project risks, and regularly disseminate lessons learned.
Work with other functions to coordinate contract negotiations and claims with customers.
Achieve project deliverables and compliance with contract requirements.
Responsibility for the entire project lifecycle.
Interact with global customers and suppliers, as well as internal team members, and build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications for the role
At least 5 years of work experience as Project Manager for system deliveries.
Experience in working with Aluminum refineries or Steel smelting or relevant products or technologies in the Metal industry market is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in management of project scope, cost, schedules, and vendors/subcontractors.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or in management is a plus.
Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
A collaborative, solution-focused approach, and strong written and spoken communication skills.
Fluent in writing and speaking English, Swedish knowledge is a plus.

Your responsibilities
Your task will be to develop technical solutions, function as technical sales support and work with production and manufacturing adaptation.
You have close contact with our own production, customers and subcontractors.
Making technical recommendations in the design, engineering, testing, installation, and commissioning phases of customer projects to ensure all actions are completed according to process requirements and standards.

Your background
A B.Sc Mechanical Engineering or higher or similar field.
Preferably, more than 3 years of experience working as Mechanical design engineer.
Experience with 3D-modelling, knowledge of strength calculations.
Previous work with welded designs in stainless steel. Experience with working in Solidworks and Solidworks PDM.
Good knowledge of MS.
Speak and write fluently in both Swedish and English.
A high level of self-motivation, curiosity and desire to learn about new technologies.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
