Role Purpose
Support the design, build, and rollout of the company’s new IT infrastructure, ensuring a structured and secure migration of existing services and applications from the current ecosystem. Act as a key interface between the central IT function in Chennai and global business units, ensuring alignment, coordination, and business continuity throughout the transformation.
Key Accountabilities
IT Infrastructure Transformation
Support the design and implementation of the target IT infrastructure (cloud, network, workplace, and security layers)


Collaborate with the central IT team (Chennai) to deploy and configure infrastructure solutions


Contribute to the definition and enforcement of global IT standards, policies, and operating models


Ensure compliance with architecture guidelines, cybersecurity requirements, and internal governance

Application & Service Migration
Coordinate and support the migration of applications and IT services to the new infrastructure


Assist in migration planning, including cut-over strategy, testing, and rollback procedures


Validate service continuity and system performance during transition phases


Identify, track, and mitigate migration risks and dependencies


Support data integrity validation and post-migration stabilization activities

Global Coordination & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact between the Chennai IT team and global offices


Facilitate communication, alignment, and issue resolution across multiple regions and time zones


Support local entities in understanding and adopting new IT solutions and processes


Gather business requirements and ensure proper translation into IT deliverables

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
Support incident resolution and troubleshooting during and after migration phases


Monitor system performance and user feedback to identify improvement areas


Contribute to documentation of systems, processes, and migration activities


Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance IT service delivery and user experience

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field


Experience in IT infrastructure, systems integration, or migration projects


Experience in cloud environments (preferably Microsoft Azure) and enterprise applications


Programming skills are a plus


Proven experience in multi-country / global IT environments

Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (cloud, network, identity, workplace)


Knowledge of migration methodologies and project coordination practices


Solid analytical and problem-solving skills


Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a complex, international environment


Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business teams


High level of autonomy, accountability, and execution focus

This role is in charge of maintaining a forward-looking view of material availability and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken to remove bottlenecks in our value chain in close collaboration with Supply Chain Management (SCM), R&D and Operations to ensure uninterrupted series production of Automation & Communication (AC) products. The role is cross-functional across SCM, Product Management, R&D and Operations. The role does not take over accountability from Product Management for the long-term lifecycle policy (multi-year plan, multi-generation plan, obsolescence management plan), or the accountability from R&D to maintain a Bill of Material (BoM) for AC products and sub-assemblies. The role is however accountable for the GPG AC portfolio manufacturability in the short-term perspective (series production in a rolling 12 month perspective) and to accelerate any kind of mitigation action necessary. Such mitigations may be, but not limited to the following:
Your responsibilities
Align material spot-buys and opportunity-buys in collaboration with SCM
Maintain day-to-day visibility on stock-levels in our factories as well as with suppliers in collaboration with Operations and SCM
Review and ensure that safety stocks are at appropriate levels in our factories as well as with suppliers in collaboration with Operations and SCM
Review the BoMs in collaboration with R&D and SCM for material risks (single-sourcing, tightly specified components, supplier risks, manufacturer risks, geopolitical risks, quality, etc) and trigger actions to reduce our risk exposure proactively
Trigger proactive redesigns and marshal reactive redesigns in collaboration with R&D
Ensure fast reindustrialization after redesign (regression testing, type testing) in collaboration with R&D, SCM and Quality
Ensure fast adaptation after redesign of production test equipment and test software in collaboration with Operations and Quality
Review and manage the required test coverage after design changes in collaboration with R&D and Quality
Maintain visibility on materials/components lifecycle, by anticipating and timely communicating potential problems (stop of production, foreseen unavailability,
Coordinate new product introductions with reindustrialization activities in collaboration with
Operations, R&D and Product Management
Ensure that sufficient supplier production capacity is available in collaboration with SCM
Onboard external test houses in collaboration with R&D

At Hitachi Energy AB protection and control development center for transmission applications, we are looking for an experienced failure analysis engineer who wants to become part of the Supplier Quality team in Västerås, Sweden.
Together with the development teams you will be responsible for the root cause analysis of relay protection (IED) hardware and its subcomponents. Root cause analysis may be initiated by internal as well as customer cases. Analysis performed will often be base for a customer response to the failure. As failure analysis is strongly connected to testing, it is beneficial if you have experience in test setup management and programming of test environments.
We are looking for a passionate failure analyst who is eager to learn from our experienced staff, but also a driving force that will push our boundaries forward. You are result oriented, responsive and have a high sense of ownership for quality. You need to be a good communicator and have strong people and leadership skills, as you will collaborate with many different stakeholders across different functions and cultures.
Your responsibility
In-depth design-level root cause analysis of Relion- relay protection (IED) hardware, partially application functions and software.
Identification of needed expertise support.
Defect management including analysis of failure statistics.
Management of and improvement of test equipment including test setup programming.
Documentation of analysis results, including report creation RCA and 8D.
Improvement of test methods and responsible for the test equipment used by the FA team.
Continously improve on FA process to reduce analysis lead time.

Your background
You hold a Master’s degree or higher in hardware engineering or equivalent. Previous work experience within ABB Relion portfolio and power systems is highly beneficial.
Technical background in electronics development and/or industrial electronics.
Technical knowledge on Relion series product is mandatory.
You are a great team player with a high degree of initiative and excellent leadership skills.
Experience with JTag, LabView, CAN or Keysight VEE is qualifying.
You are fluent in spoken and written English. Fluent in Swedish is beneficial.
