Be a Technical Leader at the Technology Consulting Department: 
The Applied Mechanics Team supports NKT and other industries worldwide in overcoming complex mechanical challenges interlinked with all sorts of physics across different products and in all stages of the product development cycle.
As an Simulation expert you will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment with a keen interest in innovation.
Your main tasks will be to:  

* Perform finite element analysis for different innovative product applications to solve complex problems that arise in various areas of applied mechanics for medium and high voltage application. 
* Initiate and advance technology and product development and ensure innovative solutions with customer value. 
* Understand our internal and external customer needs as well as their business drivers and implement creative solutions that requires highly advanced computational models and complex simulation analyses.
* Lead and conduct various type of consulting and R&D projects end-to-end, from initial client discussion to execution and reporting. You will contribute with your modelling and simulation expertise to the future development of world class high and medium voltage products. 


The position is permanent, full-time, and located in Västerås, Sweden. Flexible work arrangements allow remote work part of the week.

Analytical, goal-oriented with effective communication skills 
For this position, the ability to articulate thoughts clearly in English and correspond effectively with people of different backgrounds is vital. It is also advantageous if you have experience of building as well as maintaining close customer relations. You find satisfaction working solo as well as collaborating with a diverse group of professionals.

Apart from this you do also have:  
* Technical Ph.D. or a M.Sc. with two years of industrial experience in mechanical simulation.
* Knowledge of finite element method and numerical modeling.  
* Extensive experiences with commercial software, i.e., ABAQUS.
* Knowledge and experience on advanced mechanical testing, ANSYS, COMSOL and mechanics of high-voltage cables are merit.

We are looking for a dedicated/experienced material engineer to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing and ramping up next generation battery technologies and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.
About the job
We are looking for a Material Engineer for next generation battery development who has a solid understanding and experiences with anode materials such as Sodium ion, Lithium metal, Silicon, anode-free concept, etc. In addition, in this role you will also be responsible in leading collaborations with various partners.
About the team
Advanced Materials Team is in charge of developing next generation battery technologies which can deliver better performances and benefits for Li-Ion and Next Generation Batteries.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing and investigating new materials for advanced Li-ion, Na ion, and Next Generation Batteries
Testing samples (including sample handling, analysis of results, and maintenance of test equipment)
Designing new test protocols and procedures for new material R&D
Close communication with relevant teams and collaboration with external partners
Monitoring new technologies and literatures regarding Li ion batteries and next generation batteries
Generating new IPs (Intellectual Properties such as Patent & trade secret)



Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
Master or PhD degree in engineering (material, chemical, mechanical or similar)
Good understanding for Li ion batteries & next generation batteries such as Lithium metal batteries and Sodium ion batteries
Hands-on laboratory experience
Strong analytical skills
Excellent English written and oral skills

Bonus points for:
2+ years of experience within anode material
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Experience from a multi-cultural environment
Passion for challenging new things
Excellent for managing working tasks

Your responsibilities
Data science and Machine learning with Matlab, Python and Microsoft Azure.
Development of algorithms in Matlab/Simulink and transferring the result to C/C++.
Control system design and signal processing.
Mathematical modelling of physical processes.
Further development of calculation tools incl. programming and mathematical modelling.
Supporting sales and customers in technical issues.
Contributing to publications and participation in technical conferences.

Your background
A Master of Science or PhD degree in a relevant field.
At least 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
Good knowledge and experience in tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Python and Microsoft Azure.
Good knowledge in Physics and Mathematics.
Programming skills in e.g. C/C++, Fortran or similar.
Skills in CFD simulation and pre/ post-processing tools e.g. ANSYS Fluent, CFX, Tecplot, ANSA or Opera, are meritorious.
You express yourself well both verbally and in writing in English, and preferably in Swedish.
As a person you are analytical, careful and structured.
You work proactively with focus on delivery within deadlines and high level of quality.
You are creative and seek solutions to every challenge.
The position requires that you have a natural willingness and ability to cooperate with others to reach common goals.
As our business is global the position includes some international travelling.
