We are looking for a Project Manager in Västerås, Sweden!

Your main responsibilities
Act within the boundaries of the contract with the full power to deliver the object of the contract to the customer and to deliver the targeted margin to Alstom.
Lead the Project Core Team in the successful completion of their assigned tasks within schedule, allocated budgets and scope to the required quality.
Coordinate the project and cope with the unique challenge of continually focusing on a pro-active management that the functions keep their delegated budgets, meet their schedules and deliver on their obligation.

To Animate the Design to Cost within Tender and Project

Put the Target Cost and other DtC Targets in a DtC TRS and insure their diffusion to the project stakeholders
Based on the Design to Cost process:
Put in place a DtC governance with the métiers and with the project teams such as steering committees, KPIs & follow-up meeting
Put in place the relevant deliverables to monitor the Desgin to Cost key success factors (such as Cost Calculation Note, Cost tracking, KPIs …)
Build the dashboard to show it to the Tender or Project team
Based on the priorisation issued by the Train Cost Engineer analysis & cost follow-up:
Deliver and update at least monthly to the Tender or Project team the main cost stakes to be addressed
Propose for each of them the relevant action plan using the Design to Cost processes, tools & expertises
Participate to those action plans providing the DtC expertise and Cost Analysis leading to the Design to Cost strategy, priorisation, supply of alternative competitive design solutions in order to guide the working group to the most, of course technically compliant, but competitive.

Purpose of the role

To define the power schemes and to design electrical components for traction drives or auxiliary converter systems


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Methodology
Use the design rules for Traction system dimensioning
Use standard design deliverables for Traction system
Use the standards tools and Alstom specific tools to derive appropriate solutions
Contribute to define rules, guidelines and standard design deliverables
Contribute to return of experience on to owners of traction converter and systems as well as to power electrical components



Tender, product, project or R&D development
Calculate and simulate electrical or thermal constraints related to all components of the power scheme (Alstom tools: CITHEL/APC/TEP) to fulfil all customer and normative requirements. Write corresponding design reports.
Involvement in the definition and design of the interfaces of electrical components with mechanical department
Specify the electrical components of the traction drives or auxiliary converters
Analyse and simulate performance and properties of Power electronic components (IGBT, diodes, ...), switchgear, traction motors, passive components (inductors, transformers, capacitors, resistors, busbars, ...).
Interface components with control electronics (sensors, gate drives, relays, ...)
Participate in the definition of validation tests of the power scheme with the validation engineer
Participate in investigation tests
Contribute to the problem solving
Prepare the power design reviews in accordance with DFQ system
Participate in technical core team meetings


Qualifications and experience:
PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering physics or equivalent education with a few years of work experience in relevant field (Converter electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Power systems, High voltage testing, Testing) or;
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering physics or equivalent education with at least 8 years of work experience in relevant field (Converter electrical engineering, Power Electronics, Power systems, High voltage testing, Testing)
Structured, analytical and flexible
Innovative and curious
Knowledge and experience within the field of propulsion system, converter product performance simulation.

Electronic Hardware Design Engineer (m/f) for our location in Västerås, Sweden

The Control & Communication Platform organization is the Alstom internal supplier of control system products for railway vehicle control. The organization is global with sites in Sweden and Germany and close collaboration with a team in India. The team in Västerås is responsible for computers, input and output products, and human machine interface products. We are now investing in new products with increased performance, cyber security protection and increased functionality.

We are currently looking to recruit a Electronic Hardware Design Engineer for our Control & Communication Platform development team located in Västerås, Sweden.

The HW Design Engineer within the Control & Communication Platform typically works in projects developing new electronic products. These projects are normally led by a project manager, supported by a HW Lead Engineer coordinating the hardware related activities. The HW Design Engineer is engaged in all phases of the project such as requirements management, architecture documentation, HW design as well as verification and testing of the design.
In addition to analogue and digital HW design the role also includes knowledge about FPGA FW design i.e. VHDL programming.
Supporting the organisation in problem solving of the trains in operation as well as being a part of the management responsibility of our current firmware and electronics products are also important tasks in this position.

Responsibilities:
• Develop new and maintain existing electronic HW designs
• Develop and work with electronic HW architecture solutions
• Take part in developing and improving on processes (methods and instructions) and tools used within HW development
• Interaction with support functions and stakeholders of the Control & Communication Platform

Qualifications:
• Relevant academic background, e.g. Master’s Degree in Electronics
• At least 5 years of experience with analogue and digital HW design
• Knowledge about FPGA FW design (VHDL)
• Knowledge and experience of railway and safety standards, e.g. EN50155, EN50121-3-2 and 50657/50129
• Experience of working with industrial electronic HW design for embedded systems
• Knowledge about electronics (PCBA) manufacturing and its processes

As Project Quality and Safety Manager you will:
ensure the project Quality and safety assurance on the project and coordinate all quality and safety activities throughout the project.

Your responsibilities?

Customer Quality, be an interface with the customer’s quality and safety team
Project Quality, Establish and ensure proper application of Project Quality Plans.
Project Execution Controls
Manage quality and safety issues
Verify project deliverables are in compliance through inspection and Audits
Proper return of experience management in the projects
Supplier Quality, challenge and ensure proper application of supplier quality activities.
Measure and improve project quality and safety performance, with support of Alstom lean tools

Educational Requirements
Master degree in Engineering, Management or adequate.
Fluent in Swedish and English

Purpose of the role
To define the specification and to design and choice electrical components for the following systems:
Traction system
Auxiliary three-phase system

Uses the design rules for electrical systems
Uses standard design deliverables for electrical systems

Contributes to define rules and standard design deliverables

Tender, product, project or Research & Development
Calculates electrical or thermal constraints related to all components of the scheme to fulfil all customer and normative requirements. Write corresponding design reports.
Define the interfaces of electrical components together with mechanical and electrical department
Specifies the electrical components of the traction, auxiliary and High Voltage systems
Passive components (inductors, transformers, capacitors, resistors, busbars, …)
Interface components with control electronics (sensors, relays, …)
Participates in design review with suppliers
Participates in the business award and components qualification
Participates in the definition of validation tests for the components with the validation engineer and procurement
Participates in investigation tests
Contributes to the problem solving
Participate in the design reviews in accordance with DFQ (design for quality) system
Participates in technical core team meetings


REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor/Master degree in electrical engineering
Component Experience – preferable
Experience in stakeholder management: suppliers - preferable

Control Specialist role for our site in Vasteras, Sweden.

The main purpose of the role is to develop control systems and solutions as well for order projects as for the standard products applied in our traction and auxiliary systems. The work will mainly be carried out in office or at the Real Time Simulator setup (Hardware in the loop), but also in PowerLab and on trains together with colleagues from the different departments. The long-term target of the position is to develop competence up to at least Alstom Expert level.


What You’ll Get To Do


Design Control solutions, e.g. motor converter control or electro dynamic Slip/Slide Control;
Applied Signal processing, e.g. through filter design or frequency analysis
Implement (graphical functional block diagrams), document, Test & Verify control software functionality
Handle source code, configuration management, packaging & releases of software solutions
Execute theoretical analyses on control and dynamical systems performance, e.g. stability.
In due time provide expert support, lead complex technical problem investigations and propose solutions
In due time educate co-workers & field personnel, give support to Power lab or train tests, participate on commissioning & homologation of propulsion systems on simulators, in power lab or on train;


You'll Need To Have
PhD or MSc in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or equivalent
2-3 years relevant experience - control system development is a merit but not a requirement
Good knowledge in the area of control theory, signal processing, modelling and simulation
Good communication skills, team player
English at a business fluent level is essential for the job in our international environment
Swedish at an intermediate level is preferable.

Your mission will be to:
