System Studies, FACTS, and HVDC section is a vibrant and competent team within T&D Sweden at AFRY. The team has a cross-functional role with great expertise and has a focus on Network Planning, FACTS (Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems), HVDC (High-Voltage, Direct Current) transmission systems, Integration of Renewables, Energy Storage Systems, and other Advanced Power Systems Applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct network planning studies and selectivity plans
Ensure grid code compliance and perform connection studies
Perform load flow analysis and fault analysis
Conduct stability analysis and reliability assessments
Carry out dynamic performance studies and transient analysis
Evaluate power quality (harmonic performance, flicker, etc.)
Investigate system interaction and resonance issues
Participate in control system design and AC/DC network integration

Role Overview:
Develop system requirements for utility and industry clients

Qualifications

Expertise in power system simulation tools, such as PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT, EMTP-RV, ETAP, MATLAB, Simulink, RSCAD, etc.
Strong understanding of Power Systems and HV applications

Knowledge and experience in FACTS, HVDC, or RE integration is a plus

Arbetsbeskrivning

Som analytisk kemist ansvarar du för att leda utvecklingen och valideringen av karakteriseringsmetoder för en grupp råvaror och mellanprodukter som används/tillverkas i  kundens olika produktionslinjer för battericeller.

I dina arbetsuppgifter ingår också att:

- Driva utvecklingen, valideringen och genomförandet av nya analysmetoder för råvaror, mellanprodukter och färdiga produkter.
- Ansvara för att utveckla kvalitetsstandarder, förfaranden och dokumentation i samband med analys- och laboratoriearbetet.
- Utföra analytiska tester på en rad olika instrument, inklusive tolkning, granskning och rapportering av data/resultat till våra interna kunder.
- Ansvara för att underhålla en uppsättning analysinstrument enligt en hög standard, utbilda och dela med sig av kunskap om instrument och metoder till andra gruppmedlemmar.
- Främja operativ kvalitet genom att vara en nyckelperson i den dagliga problemlösningen och i processförbättringar.
- Förstå och internalisera QA/QC-principerna i de dagliga funktionerna.
- Bidra till 8D-produktionsundersökningar samt karaktärisering av nästa generations batterimaterial.
- Arbeta i många delar av organisationen och samarbeta med produktionsteknik, produktionskvalitet, leverantörs-/kundkvalitet och FoU-team.
- Arbeta med externa leverantörer, institut och akademiska organisationer samt med kunder.

Kvalifikationer

För att lyckas i rollen har du minst fem års erfarenhet av laboratoriearbete samt minst två års erfarenhet av FoU, kvalitetskontroll eller ett analytiskt laboratorium i en relevant industri. Vidare har du en magister-eller doktorsexamen inom kemi, materialvetenskap, fysik, naturvetenskap eller teknik.

Genom åren har du införskaffat dig goda kunskaper inom analystekniker och metodutveckling samt kvalitetskontroll, kvalitetssäkring, analytisk kemi, metodvalidering, kromatografi och av att arbeta i ett analytisk laboratorium.

Du har också kunskaper inom:

- GC-MS, IC, ICP-MS.
- SPC, FMEA.
- ISO 9001, ISO17025, IATF16949, TQM samt Lean och Six Sigma.

Erfarenhet av polymerkemi eller batterimaterial (bindemedel, grafit, kisel) är ett plus.

Som person är du analytisk och logisk med förmåga att identifiera möjligheter och förbättringar för att öka kvaliteten genom datadrivna metoder. Utöver detta är du en mycket organiserad och resultatinriktad person med ett öga för detaljer. The Analytical Chemist will be an expert in analytical methods and instruments which includes deep knowledge in handling of instruments, interpretation of results and reporting. Especially, we are looking for someone with extensive experience working in analytical laboratories. Previous industry experience working in a quality control laboratory, specifically with hands on experience in ICP-OES, ICP-MS and IC is a plus. You will play an important role to support Research & Development and Production teams in analysing raw material and intermediate product quality and characteristics, collaborating with Northvolt Supply Chain, R&D and Production teams cross-functionally in a multicultural environment.
You should be analytical and logical with an ability to identify opportunities and improvements to drive increased quality through data driven approaches. You should have strong technical abilities in order to succeed in this role.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive the development, validation and implementation of new analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates and finished products.
Run analytical testing on a range of instruments including interpretating, reviewing and reporting data/results to our internal customers.
Hands-on expertise in the following analytical techniques ICP-OES, ICP-MS, IC, BET, DLS, TGA, DSC is a plus.
Maintain analytical instruments to a high standard.
Drive operational excellence by being a key player in day-to-day problem solving and process improvement exercises.
Understand and internalize QA/QC principles in every day functions.
Contribute to 8D production investigations as well as the characterisation of next generation battery materials.
Work across many parts of the organisation, collaborating with Production, R&D, Process engineering and Quality.
Work with external suppliers, institutes and academic organizations as well as customers.

Education/Experience
PhD (or MSc with 5+ years of experience in a laboratory) in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Natural Sciences or Engineering.
2+ years of experience in R&D, quality control or an analytical laboratory in a relevant industry, e.g. Li-ion battery materials, Inorganic materials, Pharmaceutical, Food or Paper industries.
Experience in analytical chemistry is a must.
Proven track record of performing method development and validation projects in a laboratory environment.
Project management skills.
Knowledgeable in quality management systems, e.g. ISO 9001, IATF16949, TQM as well as Lean and six sigma.
Proven track record in statistical and measurement system analysis (MSA).
Familiar with SPC, FMEA, Quality troubleshooting tools and problem-solving methodology
Must have worked in a multi-cultural environment.
Curious, technically educated and preferably with a strong business background.
