You will be a part of ABB Measurement and Analytics in Västerås, which is a business unit within the Industrial Automation division. We develop and provide a comprehensive range of measurement and analytics products designed to improve control, productivity and quality in a wide variety of processes and industries. Your responsibilities:
Working closely with our customers in commissioning and service activities.
Ensuring optimal implementation of our products that our customers have invested in.
Supporting and training customers and colleagues around the world on our products.
Based at Västerås travelling frequently to customers all over the world.

Your background:
Technical academic degree.
Broad technical interest and knowledge.
Fluency in English and Swedish.
Structured and self-driven personality with good communication skills.
Customer focused, flexible and persistent.
Skilled at proposing solutions.
Eager to grow and develop professionally.
Willingness to travel.
Good to have/ valued: experience as a service technician or a commissioning engineer, process industry sector, rolling and paper mills or similar.

You will be part of Marine and Ports in Västerås. ABB’s business for ports assists shipping companies to transfer containers in a reliable, quick and cost-efficient way. Ports is specialized in advanced automation and information systems for motion control of all types of container cranes. We are the leading supplier of crane systems and are active worldwide. In the large terminal automation projects we deliver electric and automation systems for 50 to 100 cranes, to the major container ports in the world.
Your responsibilities:
As Automation Commissioning Engineer you will have a central role in the projects as you will have the opportunity to be involved in the software design, in house testing and commissioning of our automation systems on site.
The work will provide you with a broad technical understanding, experience of having customer contact and extensive travelling will give you the unique opportunity to work in a global environment.
Your work tasks are varied and will run in close collaboration with all parts of ABB Crane Systems and with our customers. You will report and assist the Commissioning Manager, organize and manage ABB's activities related to testing and commissioning and assists in technical discussions with the client and the client’s consultants. By keeping yourself well informed and making sure that all changes are identified and communicated to the relevant parties, you assure that ABB’s commitments to the customer are met and in accordance with the contract.

Your background:
You have a minimum of Bachelor´s Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
It is also considered a plus if you have general knowledge of PLC programming or C/C++ and drives.
As a person, you have the unique ability to work with troubleshooting in live stations, on project sites and under pressure, both in teams and individually.
You work according to relevant legislations and standards but also in a pragmatic and smooth way to deliver results in a global environment.
You consider yourself to be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, as well as having an ability to coach others in the commissioning area.
English is required and general knowledge of Health and Safety as well as electrical safety is an advantage.

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer of the Industrial Automation division, Process Control Platform organization. Our unit designs control system products and instrumentation for the power, water and process industries. Our portfolio includes a complete state-of-the-art automation solution for traditional markets such as thermal and water as well as challenging and ever evolving renewable markets such as solar, wind, and hydro. As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the mechanical team within Embedded Systems, designing new products and maintaining the existing product portfolio.

Your background

Demonstrated driver capabilities, with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
Demonstrated proactive acting with focus to fulfill committed deadlines with right quality.
