Technogarden is a consultancy company providing highly skilled consultants within the technical sector. For our customer in Västerås we are now seeking for a Construction Project Manager.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to plan and oversee the start-up of a wide variety of construction projects from beginning to end in Västerås. The projects will include everything from smaller brown field projects in operating facilities as new dressing rooms to larger green field projects.
Some of the projects (mainly in brownfield environment have to be executed in the immediate while the larger projects are today in planning phase.
You will be managing consultants, contractors and subcontractors and working with engineers and designers as needed.
You will work as part of a construction team and report to the customer VP of construction. You will therefore adhere to all the relevant company policies and regulation
The Construction Project Manager we are looking for has extensive previous experience in managing construction projects; being knowledgeable of regulations and permits required in Sweden is a plus.
Construction Project Manager Job Responsibilities Include
- Ensure the efficient and effective planning, design and procurement of the construction project identified by the program management
- Be responsible for the execution of the ongoing construction projects
- Manage the budget and estimate costs
- Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed
- Keep track of inventory, tools and equipment
- Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule
- Resolve any problems that may arise
- Ensure compliance with Swedish safety and construction regulations
- Evaluate risks
- Collaborate with the internal safety team, subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team
- Negotiate with external vendors on contract agreements
- Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites
- Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects
- Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly
- Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project
Profile:
- BSc/BA degree in Architecture, Building Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or another related field
- Extensive successful track record in managing relevant construction projects Highly organized
- Experiencing in managing construction budget and time schedule
- Previous work experience in construction project in Sweden is a plus
- Previous experience in a leadership role with strong and proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of relevant rules and regulations in Sweden is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities, including negotiation skills
- Living in the Västerås area would be preferable otherwise able to ensure full time presence on site.
Candidate should have good communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced organization and be result-driven.
